Dear East Asia Center,
My name is Andrew Nightingale, and I am the V.P. of publicity for the
J.B. Moore Society of International Law at the law school. This
Wednesday (the 27th), we are holding a talk on immigration tips for
professionals attempting to work in China and thought that people on
your email list might be interested in attending. Would it be possible
for you to forward the information below out to your email list?
Thanks, and hope to see you there. All the best,
Andrew

Brown-Bag Lunch: Overview of China Business Immigration Formalities
*By Wei Ji, UVa LLM student
Wednesday February 27, 2008
12:00 – 1:00 pm
WB 121 *

Our global economy depends on the ability of employees to move and work
across national borders. Getting the right people to the right places - at
the right times - is critical to the success of far-flung businesses and
requires a strong knowledge of immigration requirements. China's rapid
economic development since its entry into the WTO has created plentiful job
opportunities for high-end foreign talent, and the number of foreigners
working in China has skyrocketed accordingly. Wei Ji will survey current
Chinese law on business immigration and formalities. This is a brown-bag
lunch talk, so please feel free to bring food to the event.

Wei Ji is currently an LL.M. candidate at UVA School of Law. Before coming
to Charlottesville, she worked for Baker & McKenzie LLP in its Shanghai
office after earning an LL.B. degree from East China University of Politics
& Law.
