              Hello,
Could you please send this out on your listserv since some of your

The International Relations Organization presents:

Former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger, speaking on "The Role of
Foreign Affairs in the 2008 Presidential Election"

Lawrence Eagleburger is an American statesman and former career diplomat who
served as The United States Secretary of State under President George H. W.
Bush. Previously, he had served in lesser capacities under Presidents
Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush.

Moreover, on January 5, 2006, he participated in a meeting at the White
House of former Secretaries of Defense and State to discuss United States
foreign policy with Bush administration officials. On November 10, 2006 it
was announced that he would replace Secretary of Defense designate Robert
Gates in the Iraq Study Group.

He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The Forum for International
Policy and a member of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP)
Board of Advisors.

This should prove to be a fascinating speaker. He is speaking at 7pm on
Wednesday March 12, in Jefferson Hall. Jefferson Hall is located in Hotel C
on the West Range, directly across from the Alderman and Special Collections
Libraries. I hope to see many of you all out!
