What better way to spend your Thursday night than to watch one of the
greatest and most influential film ever made? Not only is "Seven
Samurai" the largest undertaking by a Japanese film maker at that time,
but it also became Japan's highest-grossing movie. Released in 1954, it
left a huge impact on the modern film industry and is hailed as the
first modern action movie.
"Seven Samurai" has a rather simple plot: seven samurai working together
to defend a community from attack by bandits. Yet the film tells the
samurai's story by taking us through an intricate mix of thrilling
scenes, emotional drama, engaging characters, intensive thinking, and
comic relief. Continuously ranked as one of the top films of all times,

classic. Come out (bring your friends!) and see why critics from all
over the world have been raving about this monumental film!
*** "Seven Samurai" is appropriately the first film to set off our Asian
Pacific American Heritage Month Film Series. Join us the rest of April
