Professors and Faculty,
If you have the time, please come out to watch the wonderful movies in our
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Film Series. All movies are free
(except * "Nanking"), come from a variety of Asian countries, and deal with
interesting subjects, such as history, identity, and warfare. Every movie
is different: some are comedies, others are emotional dramas, and others
are intensive action films. They are tied in one aspect: all have an Asian
cast and deal with a prominent issue in their respective country. Aside
from "Nanking", all have Asian / Asian American directors. As Asians trying
to break into the world of entertainment, they are all inspirational in
their own way, but I will let you be the judge of that.
The films left in our series are:
1) China: "Mountain Patrol", dir. Chuan Lu
April 10 (tonight!) - 7pm - Ruffner G004A
*2) "Nanking", dir. Billy Guttentag & Dan Sturman

Please encourage your students to come out. Not only will they learn more
about different countries' culture and history but the language as well, as
we show all of our movies in its original language with subtitles.
Thank you very much for your attention, and I hope to see you and your
students at our showing! Have a wonderful day.
Sincerely,
