This globe-trotting string quartet celebrates its twenty-fifth 
anniversary season and its fourteenth annual appearance at the Freer 
with a special concert. For this occasion, the Shanghai Quartet performs 
the world premiere of the string quartet version of Chen Yi's */From the 
Path of Beauty/,* co-commissioned by the Freer and Sackler Galleries in 
2008. Filling out the program are Haydn's op. 77, no. 1, and Beethoven's 
op. 132.
