Be prepared. Be empowered.* *The 4th Annual Out For Work Career Conference will take place September 26-28th in Washington D.C. The conference is a weekend-long event that is designed only for the LGBTQQ and Ally community, in particular those students who are looking to transition from academia into the workplace. The conference is open to any students, faculty/staff, and business professionals. The first full day of the conference is a series of panel discussions and break-out sessions about how to write and build a resume as an LGBTQ or ally identified person, how to come out in an interview, whether or not to come out in one, and how to analyze a company based on their non-discrimination policies. The first day also includes break-out sessions on how to be out in politics, business, non-profit organizations, education, and many others. There are also sessions on how to transition in the workplace and how to be a good ally. The panel discussions are led by major company employers, including Esurance, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Northup Grumman, Sodexho, and many others. The second day of the conference is a resume building workshop where employers sit down with students and give them advice about individual resumes. Following that session is the career fair, where employers give students the chance to present them their resumes and have quick interviews. Employers do hire on the spot. The conference is not just for full-time job seekers. There are many full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities available. The registration fee for students to attend the conference is $45. However, if a school were to register as a group, it would be much cheaper. Registration for a group of 10 is $300, and for 20 it is $500. Breakfast and lunch are both provided on both days of the conference. We also have partnerships available, but only for the next couple days. Partnerships are $350, which includes a table for 10 students, as well as school or organization logos on our conference brochures, flyers, and programs, as well as a simple and quick registration process for students.* *For More Information and to Register, Go Online at www.outforwork.org* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
