[silence] Seeking original source of Cage quote

Hello all:

I am trying to locate a quote by Cage which appears in Nyman's  'Experimental Music:  Cage and Beyond'.  Does anyone recognize the original source for the following:

"Distinguish between that 'old' music you speak of which has to do with conceptions and the communication, and this new music, which has to do with the perception and the arousing of it in us.  You don't have to fear from this new music that something is bad about your liking your own music."

The quote appears in Nyman's book on page 23 (the most recent addition).

I have been in contact with Nyman but he has yet to get back with me.  Any suggestions as to where the original quote might be found would be most helpful.
