Hi all:
Following up on the previous post of the new prepared piano recording on
Brilliant Classics of Cage's prepared piano music (perf. By Giancarlo
Simonacci) ...
I picked this recording up last week while I was in Rome and despite its
incredible budgeted price (about $15 US for a 3 disc set) must say that I am
impressed with the quality of this recording in every aspect. The
performances are assured and ambient quality of the recording places the
listener in close proximity to the instrument. It is always a pleasure to
hear how different pianos sound under the same preparations. Inside the set
are good liner notes written by Emanuel Overbeeke.
I was happy to also pick up the recording of Music for Marcel Duchamp, et.
al. with the 'new digital remastering' on the Cramps Records label.
Good thing I threw a few Euros in the Trevi fountain.
