Fellow Silencers,
The Chance Operations Collective of Kalamazoo, with the help of the
local chapter of the American Guild of Organists, will be performing
Organ2/ASLSP in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, on Saturday, February 24.
As an homage to the famous performance of this piece now playing in
Halberstadt, Germany that is to last 639 years, we will be playing a
scaled down version for 639 minutes. The performance will start at
11am and continue to 9:39 pm at the Cathedral of Christ the King
(near Oakland Dr. and the I-94 freeway). The Cathedral is a work of
art in itself with a medieval/modern interior and is blessed with a
magnificent Aeolian-Skinner organ.
We will be welcoming listeners to come and go as they please, walk
the indoor labyrinth, meditate and just listen. Please join us if
you're able. Admission is free.
Feel free to contact me for further info. I'm also happy to send a
poster (in the form of a jpeg file attached to an email) to any who
would like one. Any help with getting the word out is appreciated!
Jeff Mitchell
