In our household, we have two rice cookers that make beautiful, 
unpredictable gurgling sounds (not unlike "Inlets") while cooking. We 
have contemplated doing a performance of Cage's "0'00" in which we mic 
the cookers, sending the sound to wide stereo feeds. The part about 
"fulfilling an obligation to others" would be met by serving the 
resulting rice to the audience.
