That's funny -- after Cage went macrobiotic, he used to take an electric rice steamer everywhere with him. A friend told me years ago that, during an appearance in Florida, I think it was, Cage made a point of announcing the brand, when praising his "Panasonic rice steamer." Just like many people are sure that their physician is "the best," Cage must have felt equally strongly about his rice cooker. Perhaps others have had the same experience with Cage, as he evidently got quite a bit of use out of the contraption. I suppose it should be in a museum.
I must admit I've never noticed any sound coming from one of these things, but I'll listen more carefully next time.

Panasonic Rice-O-Mat SR-W18FXP. I believe I picked mine up at the big
store of household stuff at the Pentagon Center Mall, just outside DC.
