Just a quick announcement of two events that should be of interest to
list members who live in North Texas or wouldn't mind having a great
excuse to visit.
As part of Other Arts first full season of new music events, pianist
(and list-member) Louis Goldstein will be performing Morton Feldman's
Triadic Memories and John Cage's Sonatas and Interludes for prepared
piano in the Van Cliburn Recital Hall of the Maddox-Muse Center, 330
East 4th Street in downtown Fort Worth, just east of Bass Performance Hall.
Goldstein will perform Triadic Memories on Sunday December 2, 2007
beginning at 7:30 PM; he will perform Sonatas & Interludes on Monday
December 3, 2007. This is a rare chance to hear excellent performances
of two of the major piano works of the 20th century over a two-day span.
Tickets for each concert will be $23 for general admission; $18 for
students and seniors. They will be available beginning some time next
week at http://www.basshall.com or via phone 817 212-4280 or, toll-free,
877 212-4280. I can offer the discounted ticket price to any list member
who contacts me backchannel before buying their tickets.
Those of you who have heard Goldstein's fine recordings of these works
have probably already begun booking your flights. Those of you who have
not yet heard Louie's recordings should consider doing so before the
downtown hotels have filled up.
I'm sorry to say that the Other Arts Web site is down right now, but it
should be back online with more information about this and other
upcoming events some time next week.
Bests,
Herb Levy
