I know this is short notice, but for those in New York City with time on their
hands, today, Tuesday 10/2/07, is the lastchance to catch two performances
related to the Invention: Cunningham & Collaborators exhibit at The New York
Public Library for the Performing Arts (at Lincoln Center).
At Noon in the Plaza lobby, members of the Cunningham Repertory Group will
be performing a short dance created by Merce Cunningham expressly for the
LPA exhibition.
At 4:00 pm, in the Oenslager Gallery, Nurit Tilles' will perform on
prepared piano the entire Sonatas and Interludes by John Cage (about 70
minutes).
And if you've not seen the Cunningham exhibit - it is wonderful. A
number of Cage manuscripts are on display, as well as original artwork and
costumes created for the Cunningham company by Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper
Johns.
