[silence] Recording Cage

John Cage hated recodings, never listened to them, unless he was forced to
by circumstances (he once said "one would have to live two lives to have
time to listen to recordings') and tried to avoid recording sessions as much
as he could. When he was taken to a recording session, he got out of there
as soon as he could (way before the session was finished).
To ask "how [did] he want his music recorded" is basically wrong question.
Cage tried to get rid of desires as much as he could. This caused [and still
causes] a lot of problems.
