Sure Richard, but why enslave music to a tradition or time? Classical
music can overcome such limitations because everything required to
perform/experience the music is contained in the 'note record' itself.
The question becomes, was Cage writing his final notes/sounds down
with a certain time/style in mind, or not? Also, does such a question
have any relationship to these ideas about 'classical' music?
