Who suggested reading a score in a vacuum? From the start I've
suggested it was not required (optional, up to each person to decide).
>> Yes -- and now we have a President-elect who knows how to learn from
>> history and the experience of others!
Would wanting to have a beer with Barack Obama be different than
wanting to have one with George Bush?
>> And who do you believe has a better understanding? And, seeing as
>> all are working from the same scores, what experience might have led
>> another to "really understand" the music?
It would be different for each person ... up to each person to decide
these matters.
