Hello, Silence list!
My name is Aaron Hynds, and I'm a performance/comp. student at the University of Northern Iowa. I'm preparing to write a paper to be submitted to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research Proceedings journal, and I had a question about some materials. My abstract for the conference is entitled "Combining modern multimedia composition and the tuba quartet", and is pretty much what it sounds like: I am writing a piece for tuba quartet, electronic sound and video, to be presented at the conference. As part of my conference presentation and paper, I am doing some research into the history and usage of multimedia music composition. So, my question is, are there any suggestions out there for any particular resource that could help me in this research? I am particularly looking for any sort of reading or visual materials that pertain to this area of musical composition. I know Cage was very much tied to this type of composition, so I figured
some of the people on this list would be interested and active in this area, as well. Any help with this research would be greatly appreciated, and, where applicable, will warrant an acknowledgement/source in my paper!
Thanks,
Aaron Hynds
