Radu Malfatti started out as an improvising trombonist, but some of
his recent compositions use the same time bracket notation as Cage's
number pieces. I have the score for a solo piano piece, and it's
even more sparse than Cage. The EFI site has a page for him, but it
deals mostly with his improv work. More info on his compositions is
at Timescraper, http://www.timescraper.de/malfatti/index.html. He
runs his own label of made-to-order CDRs called b-boim. I haven't
heard any of these, but there are brief descriptions at Mimaroglu
(http://www.mimaroglumusicsales.com/labels/b-boim.html), although
there are other distributors.
