One way to do it might be to "dump" all of Cage's written (and spoken/transcribed) text into a single database, which could be searchable by keyword, as our own listserv's archives are--as is done, for example, for the Bible (see http://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=%22chance%22&qs_version=9 ).

By the way, could we please hide Silence list members' email addresses in the Silence archives (at least by having the @ symbols changed to "AT" or something like that?  I'm getting quite a bit of Nigerian spam lately, and basically the only place on the 'net my email address appears unhidden is in the Silence archives.  Thanks very much,

This sounds like a wonderful idea. I have a feeling that tools and
methodologies for this might already exist. Indexing is a tricky task,
not as automatic as it might seem.

Might any of our Information Science pros have any insight?
