One of John Cage's "late symphonies", Twenty-Six with Twenty-Eight and
Twenty-Nine (1991) is a major orchestral work. Doing well in its
initial release at Amazon (next to the 20th century symphonies of
Gorecki, Sibelius, Shostakovich, Copland, Hovhaness, Glass and
Rachmaninoff) ...

... it, along with several of the larger Number Pieces, are perhaps
best described as a symphonies without conductors ... also perhaps the
reason they almost never performed live.
