John Cage's Eighty was written in 1992, the year of Cage's 80th  
birthday. Eighty is Cage's 5th largest Number Piece (after 108, 103,  
101 and Eighty-Three [Twenty-Six with Twenty-Eight & Twenty-Nine]).  
Eighty is scored for a large ensemble of strings [violins, violas and  
cellos] and winds [alto flutes, english horns, clarinets and trumpets].
