This might look like a bizarre conjunction of names to anyone familiar with the 60s jazz avant-garde. I read, years ago (probably in Down Beat), that Columbia had recorded a great deal of what was then the latest in free/ avant-garde jazz, but had issued none of it. One of the items was a recording of AE conducted by the great drummer Sunny Murray (better known for his work with Cecil Taylor and Albert Ayler). Many years after reading this, I spoke to him briefly after a concert in London, and mentioned the recording. He confirmed that it had been made -  seemed surprised that anyone remembered ..Does anyone know anything more about this? I've no idea who else was involved in the recording - whether they were other free jazz players or not. Much as I admire Murray's work, I don't see it as intended to sober and quiet the mind.
