[silence] Circus

Thank you, Guy. Measure for Measure would provide the verbal richness, I imagine, as well as the scope for the composed interventions (the same goes for the Doblin). I was thinking of Beckett too, in part because of the Feldman connection - Texts for Nothing, perhaps, or one part of the trilogy. The verbal range would appear more restricted, but the idea of working in this way on such carefully constructed texts is fascinating.

Thanks again.

I did a version using Shakespeare's Measure for Measure together with
percussionist Michael Weilacher (I do have a recording of the piece)
about 10 years ago...which was interesting, especially considering
Cage's opinions about theatre. Then about 5 years ago I had two students
of mine ("radio" students, so this wa seen as possible hoerspiel) making
a version using Samuel Beckett's Embers (we consciously chose a short
work, as there was not that much time available).
Then also some 7 or 8 years ago I saw, as an installation, a version
done with Alfred Doeblin's Berlin Alexanderplatz (an impressive task) by
the German musicologist Volker Straebel.
But I'm sure there must be many more.
